Why Games Are Important For Us
Develop And Enhance Skillset
Games form an important part of the development of a child’s brain. Whether in a school playground, classroom learning, or just an evening playdate with friends, a child learns something or the other from playing different games which helps him/her develop important life skills.
Games Teach Team Spirit
It helps bring people together who might not come otherwise. From cricket, hockey, volleyball, to videogames, a person learns how to play for a team rather than themselves. It teaches them to be selfless and work unanimously in coordination with others and thereby develop skills of cooperation. You never know, one might just end up making friends for a lifetime.
Give an experience of a lifetime
Life is not a bed of roses and games teach these values in a way that not everybody can win every time. Sometimes one loses, but shouldn’t be disappointed as it is the experience that matters and not the prize. What one learns through the journey or in simple words, by playing games of any sort is what is essential at the end of the day
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. When ten batters have been dismissed, the innings ends and the teams swap roles. The game is adjudicated by two umpires, aided by a third umpire and match referee in international matches. They communicate with two off-field scorers who record the match's statistical information.

2}football
Football is one of the most accessible sports in the world. The only equipment needed to play a game is a ball. And even that can be fashioned using a few plastics bags, if there are no other alternatives. It really is as simple as that. The barrier to entry is almost non-existent, as football does not discriminate based on social, economic or political backgrounds. As a result of this, football is a game that’s enjoyed the world over.
Football is culturally significant
Football is an old sport. In fact, historic evidence suggests that sport could be over 2000 years old .While we may not know anyone that was around when the game started, we are certainly the beneficiaries of its rich history.
The cultural significance of the sport is immense across the globe. Whether it’s Brazilians reminiscing over their national team that has won the most World Cup titles (5), the English, who more or less innovated morden football , or the Germans, who play like a well-oiled machine.
Outside of the pitch itself, the social impacts of football are hard to ignore. Sets of fans, friends and families can be divided based on their allegiance towards certain teams. It’s nothing personal. It’s just business.
My favorite football player
Ronaldo[Cr7]
volleyball, game played by two teams, usually of six players on a side, in which the players use their hands to bat a ball back and forth over a high net, trying to make the ball touch the court within the opponents’ playing area before it can be returned. To prevent this a player on the opposing team bats the ball up and toward a teammate before it touches the court surface—that teammate may then volley it back across the net or bat it to a third teammate who volleys it across the net. A team is allowed only three touches of the ball before it must be returned over the net.
My favorite player
matt Anderson
In his senior year, he led the West Seneca boys' volleyball team to a 17-0 regular-season record and a Sectional Finals appearance, losing to eventual state champion, Hamburg, in 3 sets. In 2004, the team were the 2004 Division I State Champions. He played club volleyball for Eden Volleyball Club in Eden, New York. Anderson followed an uncharacteristic growth path in his youth – only reaching his full height (6'8") as a Sophomore at Penn State. His original position was middle – playing that in his Sophomore and Junior seasons of high school. As he became more experienced in the game, he spent more time in the Outside and Right-side for Eden VBC.
4}HOCKY
Hockey is a term used to denote a family of various types of both summer and winter team sports which originated on either an outdoor field, sheet of ice, or dry floor such as in a gymnasium. While these sports vary in specific rules, numbers of players, apparel and, notably, playing surface, they share broad characteristics of two opposing teams using a stick to propel a ball or disk into a goal.
There are many types of hockey. Some games make the use of skates, either wheeled, or bladed while others do not. In order to help make the distinction between these various games, the word "hockey" is often preceded by another word i.e. "field hockey", "ice hockey", "roller hockey", "rink hockey", or "floor hockey".
My favorite play
WAYNE GRETZKY – C
It requires one sentence to make the case that Wayne Gretzky is the best hockey player of all time: he would lead the NHL’s all-time scoring list if you subtracted goals from his point total. Gretzky’s 1,963 helpers in 1,487 games would still give No. 99 a 42-point lead on the point total of Jaromir Jagr, who played 246 more games.
And if you include goals – Gretzky holds the record for those, too, with 894 – The Great One’s point-total cushion expands to 936.
At his peak, Gretzky’s output bests all. He holds the single-season record for goals (92 in 1981-82) and points (215 in 1985-86). He’s the only player to eclipse 200 points, and did so four times, including a three-year streak between 1983 and 1986 in which he totalled 628 points in 234 games. He also led the Oilers to four Stanley Cups in five years and won two Conn Smythe Trophies.
Perhaps Gretzky’s most untouchable record is scoring 50 goals in Edmonton’s first 39 games in 1981-82. (He also scored 50 in 42 and 50 in 49, but those aren’t often referenced because they didn’t occur in the team’s first 50 games.)
basketball, game played between two teams of five players each on a rectangular court, usually indoors. Each team tries to score by tossing the ball through the opponent’s goal, an elevated horizontal hoop and net called a basket.
(Read James Naismith’s 1929 Britannica essay on his invention of basketball.)
The only major sport strictly of U.S. origin, basketball was invented by James Naismith (1861–1939) on or about December 1, 1891, at the International Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Training School (now Springfield College),
My Favorite player
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks
There should not be much argument here. Antetokounmpo is one of the best basketball players and has the best records in league history. From 2016-17 he became the first player in NBA history to cover the regular season in the top 20 and commenced the Bucks in all five major categories. By receiving the most improved player award in 2017 and being selected as the all-star captain in 2019-2020, he surely is the best. Furthermore, He is named the NBA Defensive Player of the year 2020.
